If your house was burning, would be you grab? The Burning House post pictures that people have send in documenting what they would grab if their house was burning. Pretty interesting. I would grab the cat and dog first.
Once I had the pets, I would then grab my laptop, passport, phone, notebook, wallet, lip gloss, keys and picture of my mom & I.

girl crush

I have a girl crush on Angelina Jolie. Love her style (dressy casual), her tattoos, and her humanitarian work. Not loving the six kids but that's just me. I rather have two dogs and two cats (kids still sound like a bad idea to me, no bio clock ticking yet).

road trips

I love road trips: the open road, the scenery, listening to an audiobook from the library or sometimes scanning around to find something on the radio, dog sitting on my lap, the speed, the freedom. I'm usually by myself when I go on a long roadtrips. This weekend I drove 5 & half hours (338 miles) to Midland to see the guy. Fourth of July weekend, I'm driving almost 9 hours (506 miles) to Kansas City, Missouri to be with family.

I would LOVE to drive a RV around the US, maybe drive down South America to the tip of Argentina then up to Alaska.

June 30th my lease ends!
July 1st is my last day at work! Start my drive back up to Minnesota
July 7th - August 3rd I will be trekking around Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia
August 7th - 15th my sister and I will be sailing around Lake Superior

weekend recap

GREAT weekend!! Had some friends over Friday night. I tried a new recipe, beet pesto. DELICIOUS!! I added about 1/4 cup more oil than the recipe stated, next time I am going to add four garlic cloves to the mixture. Everyone else seemed to like it too! Trying new recipes always make me a little nervous. Thinking about playing around with the recipe and trying it with a pound of sweet potato instead of beets. Love sweet potatoes! After dinner we played Farkle, it's my new favorite game!! I played it with Julie and her husband last weekend when I was up in Minnesota. Game of chance and gamble. To roll again or not!
Yes, I did win!
On Saturday I biked 63 miles around Muenster and the surrounding cities. Last year Muenster Metric Century Bike Rally was my first ever 63 bike ride. It's a tough ride, the hills come coming and coming and giving and giving. This year it did not seem as tough as last year but some of those hills felt like I was going straight up. Finished in 4 hours and 45 minutes, very happy with that time!! I stayed house for the rest of Saturday and all Sunday. Didn't get in my car once. Just laid around watching The Wire season 5, reading Flirt by Laurell Hamilton and eating lots of sugar cookies. Why does the weekend go by so quickly and the weekdays seem to drag on & on?

long weekend

I took a quick trip up to Minnesota for five days to see friends, aunts, grandma and my sister. It was great!! Just relaxed. I didn't take a lot a pictures, just a couple on Saturday.


I love being back up in Minnesota, I feel more calm and relaxed. But this trip just reconfirmed Minnesota is not home again yet and I am kind of done with Dallas, it's time to move to a different city. When searching for a new job, I am going to make it nationwide. Find a fun new city to explore.

Library Book:
Lately I have been on a reading kick, this last week I have read Lipstick in Afghanistan by Roberta Gately, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Just started reading I Don't Know How She Does It by Allison Pearson. I recommended The Hunger Games and Catching Fire, I read each within 24 hours. There is a third book to the series but I have not read it yet, I am number 27 on the library reserve list.
