This week I saw Jennifer's Body and Pandorum. Luckily I saw both movies for free because neither of them were very good.
Jennifer's Body was like a teenage boy's wet dream mixed with some horror. Megan Fox is not a very good actress. some parts were good but overall, not so much. Its a renter.
Pandorum was confusing, I had no feelings towards the characters and I felt like the movie just wanted to shock and scare people. Lame. But I did stay. I wanted to see have it would end. What the spin at the end would be. I would also rate this has a renter. If you are looking for a space/action/monster movie, I recommended Event Horizon.

watching 'Let the Right One In' tonight
Oskar, a bullied 12-year old, dreams of revenge. He falls in love with Eli, a peculiar girl. She can't stand the sun or food and to come into a room she needs to be invited. Eli gives Oskar the strength to hit back but when he realizes that Eli needs to drink other people's blood to live he's faced with a choice. How much can love forgive? Let The Right One In is a story both violent and highly romantic, set in the Stockholm suburb of Blackeberg in 1982. ~ imdb.com

The Watchmen
In a gritty and alternate 1985 the glory days of costumed vigilantes have been brought to a close by a government crackdown, but after one of the masked veterans is brutally murdered an investigation into the killer is initiated. The reunited heroes set out to prevent their own destruction, but in doing so discover a deeper and far more diabolical plot. ~ imdb.com
A co-worker (Erinn) and I saw this movie at the midnight showing Thursday night/Friday morning. Pretty good!! Erinn read the comic book before seeing the movie so she told me some of the history. To fully enjoy this movie, I do not think you can just walk into. You need to learn a little bit about the character and storyline. Otherwise, very confusing!! It is Rated R for a resaon; strong graphic violence, sexuality, nudity and language.

Defiance
Three Jewish brothers escape from Nazi-occupied Poland into the Belarussian forest, where they join Russian resistance fighters and endeavor to build a village in order to protect themselves and others in danger. ~ imdb.com
Really good movie!!! I saw this on Tuesday, sneak preview. Not usually a fan of war movies. They are hard to watch. This movie was different, part of this movie was hard to watch but I care for the characters and you saw humanity, you saw how the people lived and how they dealt with the conditions. There were some funny parts that were a nice breather part. It is two hours long, some parts felt a like long but all in all it flowed nicely. At times, Craig Daniels' eyes were too blue, it took something away from the movie. Loved Liev Schreiber, George MacKay and Jamie Bell.
3.5 out of 4 stars.

Gran Torino
A co-worker and I saw Gran Torino last night with a meetup.com group, Dallas Great Movies and Books Club. It’s a great story! I liked Clint Eastwood’s character. According to imdb.com, ‘open casting calls for Hmong actors were held in Hmong communities in Detroit, Michigan; Saint Paul, Minnesota; and Fresno, California. None of the Hmong actors in the cast had acted in a film before except’ for one of the actors. I do not know what it was but something about the movie made me disconnected from it. At the end, the person next to me was crying. I am usually a cry-baby at movies but I did not even get teary-eyed at the end of this one. This is a movie I am going to recommend people to watch as a rental, not something you need to see in the theatre.
