Spider Cookies

We are having a potluck at work to celebrate Halloween. I decided to make spider cookies. I made them before two Halloweens ago, fun cookies. They are sugar cookies with pretzel legs and melt milk chocolate poured over them.
Very proud of myself for keep the kitchen fairly clean.
I was done baking all the cookies at 10pm Thursday night. I went to the gym for an hour to let the cookies cool.
Cute, delicious little spiders!!

October 23, 2008

This was taken at Club Dada in Deep Ellum. A co-worker's band played their first show so some other co-workers and I went to support him. These are the people I usually hang out with, minus the two that did not show up. It was a fun night!!

Tuesday tonight

Jennifer and I went to the Ginger Man in Uptown Dallas on the 21st for Shane's (co-worker) birthday. Beautiful weather!! In the 70s. Look at how red/tan my face is. Honestly, I do not think I have ever been so tan before!!! I have to be careful not to get raccoon eye from my sunglasses. Need to remember sunscreen on my face.

Weekend

It was a good weekend. I got a little sunburnt!!Saturday morning, a couple co-workers and I walked in the Race for the Cure around North Park in Dallas. We were on another co-worker's team. Beautiful morning!!
Me, Erinn, Donna and Midge almost to the finish line.
Midge, Erinn and I got breakfast/lunch afterwards at Luna de Noche in the North Park mall. I got the Luna Layer and mango margarita. Delicious! Caught the train back to Mockingbird station. Walked three block and played flag football at 1pm.
Sunday I walked around White Rock Lake then went to the Texas State Fair with a co-worker and his roommate. We were there for about three hours. Which was perfect. I am not a big fan of state fairs. I find them a little boring. We test-drove cars, walked around, watched three pig races then left. No rides, no games, no food- perfect. Above is Big Tex, he is the mascot of the Texas State Fair.

pictures from last weekend

It was a nice relaxing weekend.

I walked around White Rock Lake both Saturday and Sunday morning. Beautiful mornings!! It is the middle of October and I am still able to wear tank tops outside without freezing!!! haha, Minnesota!!!
After my walk on Saturday, I went to a Urban Street Market in southwest Dallas. The area is called Bishop Art District. It reminded me of the Lyndale area. They are trying to built up the area with cute stores and restaurants.

MMMMM....candy ice cream in a waffle cone!!!!

Lazy, lazy kitties!!!!

August 2009

Super excited!! I just put a down payment on a trip to Europe today!!! Taking a tour through Contiki again. I used the Contiki travel group in 2007 when I went to London/Paris/Rome and had an amazing time!!! As of right now the plan is to visit Berlin/Vienna/Prague/Budapest in August 2009, a 12 day trip. I will probably add a day in Berlin before the tour starts and add a day at the end in Budapest after the tour ends. http://contiki.com/tours/100-berlin-to-budapest

My week has been boring. Working 10 hour days, cooking dinner at home then walking on the treadmill for an hour.

De-f*cking-licious!!!

I want a guy like Brad Pitt. Someone who rides a bike as a form of transport, like and has a motorcycle, educated, he supports causes, politically informed, dresses nicely- has style, loves to travel, wants to live in different states, likes women with tattoos BUT instead of lots of kids, wants lots of animals (like, three dogs and two cats).

Weekend

I took it easy this weekend. On Friday I saw Eagle Eye with Brandon, Sonesh and Chamika (co-workers). Pretty good movie!!! Lots of action!! Saturday was flag football. We lost again but we are getting better. No one ran into a teammate (that would be me last game). Afterwards Jennifer, Elbert and I went for lunch. Got home and took a 3 hour nap. Playing flag football really wipes me out. I stayed home the rest of the night.
Sunday I walked around White Rock Lake in shorts and a tank top. I heard in MN there was frost on the ground in the morning. On the map, I walked the red path. It took me 2hrs 30mins. Beautiful day!!! Champika and I went to an Ethiopian resaurant Kereje. I liked it. They gave you a platter with a big piece of doughy bread, injera, that covers the whole platter and scoops of sides on top of it. I got the vegetarian dish; a greens, three types of lentils in various textures, potato salad and a tomato salad. It was a hole in the wall kind of place. We are going to try to find a Somali restaurant next.

October 1st morning

Beautiful morning!!! The temp was in the 60s, I opened the patio door while getting ready.
As soon as Shawn left, Jasmine went into his room and got comfortable on his chair.

September 30th 2008

Last night was nice and relaxing. I watching about an hour of the new Iron Man movie, had pizza and two Shiner Bock beers. Then Shawn and I went to Hurricane Grill on Greenville Ave to watch the Twins vs Chicago game with two of his bosses. :( I am disappointed in the Twins. How can you not score at least one?
